Egyptian Oriental Weavers eyes hiking exports to Russia to $5mn late-2016

Egyptian leading carpet manufacturer Oriental Weavers Group targets boosting its exports to Russia to US$5 million at the end of 2016, Marketing Manager Hany Amin told Amwal Al Ghad Thursday.

Amin said that company’s exports to Russia has dropped 30 percent in 2015 to record $3 million due to the decline of ruble price against dollar.

Amin added that Oriental Weavers started exporting to Russia since 1990 through participating in a fair for Egyptian products then taking part in other exhibitions with large companies.

Oriental Weavers Group is one of the world’s largest carpet, rug and related raw materials producers.
