Egyptian Chemical and Fertilizers Export Council (CEC) targets boosting exports of chemical sector by 15 percent to reach US$3.4 billion in 2016 versus US$2.9 billion a year earlier.
Speaking to Amwal Al Ghad Monday, council Chairman Khaled Abu El Makarem stated that the first four months of 2016 witnessed a hike in chemical exports volume by 5.1 percent, reaching US$1 billion opposed to US$951 million at the same period of 2015.
He clarified that this increase was due to the plan approved by CEC to promote sector in Africa in order to boost exports to African markets by 8 percent.
The council approved new plan depending on lowering the number of exhibitions that it takes part in and replacing them with promotional campaign, Abu El Makarem clarified.
