Egypt’s Textile and Ready-made Garments export councils are set to organise the first round of Destination Africa in Cairo from 11-12 October 2016.
Destination Africa is the first sourcing fair in Egypt that aims at linking Egypt with all African states as a trade centre for textiles and readymade garments industry in Africa.
Speaking to Amwal Al Ghad Friday, Head of state’s Textile Export Council, Hassan Eshra stated that Destination Africa would be held with the participation of many delegations from a number of African, European, Arab, and U.S. states.
The official asserted that tightening Egypt’s trade and industrial ties with Africa is vital for making Egypt a regional centre for international trade movement and a gate to enter African markets.
Through its offices in different countries -notably in Europe and U.S.-, Egyptian Commercial Service Office (ECS) promotes Destination Africa to attract large buyers to participate in the exhibition, Eshra noted.
The ECS invited foreign importers of textiles products to join Destination Africa and meet exhibitors in Egypt.
The chairman added that large Egyptian firms that exports textiles, clothes, and accessories are set to take part in Destination Africa in addition to African exporters.
Destination Africa is set to be held by the councils in cooperation with the Egyptian Exporters Association-Expolink (EEA) and expected to encompass around 75 Egyptian and African exhibitors and set to focus on presenting Egyptian textiles.
