A delegation from the World Bank Group will visit Egypt in the first week of June, Egyptian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr said Wednesday.
The World Bank delegation’s visit aims to support the steps taken by the Egyptian government in laying an investment plan and attracting more foreign investments that would ensure sustainability of the national development process, Nasr added.
Nasr made these statements following her meeting with Asad Alam, World Bank’s Country Director for Egypt. The officials discussed several development projects, including the World Bank’s support of a new project for women empowerment in Egypt. They also tackled procedures to disburse the World Bank’s third and final tranche $1 billion out of $ 3 billion loan allocated to support the government’s economic programme.
