The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) posted gains Thursday closing amounted to EGP 4.66 billion the capital market has reached EGP 339.768 billion.
The main index, EGX30 climbed 1.73% to end at 4708.59 p. EGX20 jumped 2.37% to finish at 5451.99 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 inched higher 0.99% to close at 422.03 p. Price index EGX100 surged 1.83% to concluded at 729.54 p.
Traded volume reached 167.193 million securities worth 787.497 million, exchanged through 26.026 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 185 listed securities; 38 declined and 131 advanced while 16 keeping their previous levels.
Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers seizing 43.65% and 24.52% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 50.725 million and EGP 322.786 million excluding the deals
Non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 31.84% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 373.512 million excluding the deals.
Leading Shares
EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective upwards led by the shares of Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) which jumped 2.07% to hit EGP 1.48. Shares owned by Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) edged higher 1.44% to reach EGP 248.57. Shares of Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) went up 1.00% to hit EGP 3.04. Shares of Commercial International Bank- Egypt (CIB) (COMI.CA) inched higher 0.66% to hit EGP 25.96. Shares of EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) climbed 0.30% to hit EGP 10.15.
