603.000 Tourists Arrived in Red Sea in May, June

The tourism in Red Sea governorate flourished in May and June by arriving 603.000 tourists, hiked by 12.7%, through the airports of Hurghada and Marsa Alam.

Magdy Selim, chairman of interior tourism in Egyptian Tourist Authority, asserted that the number of Egyptian, Arab and foreigner tourists came to Red Sea in May and June reached 603.000 ones, comparing to 535.000 last year.

Selim added that the average of occupancy rate in the governorate in May reached 61%, 2.3 million touristic nights, while the occupancy rate last June reached 57%, about 2.4 million touristic nights.

He referred that the Russian tourism, arrived in Hurghada Airport, reached 179.000 ones, the German tourism came second, reached 113.000 ones. As per the Italian tourism, it came first in Marsa Alam, reached 45.000 ones.
