Rod al-Farag Axis bridge 1st national project recorded in Guinness World Records: Salah

Egypt’s Rod al-Farag Axis Bridge is the first national project to be recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records, according to Mohammed Mohsen Salah, Chairman of Egypt’s Arab Contractors.

The newly inaugurated bridge is having a width of 64.8 meters, followed in width size by Canada’s suspension bridge at a width of 64.2 meters and the Turkish Bosphorus at 58.5 meters wide.

Salah added that the total costs of the second phase of Rod al-Farag Axis Bridge recorded 3.5 billion Egyptian pounds.

The project have been implemented over two phases with total cost of 5 billion Egyptian pounds, Salah added.

The total length of the Rod al-Farag Axis Bridge is 16.7 kms divided into five bridges that connect a number of areas. The longest of these bridges is Shobra neighborhood bridge, followed by the Ring Road intersection bridge. The other three bridges are Warraq Bridge, Western Nile Bridge, and the Eastern Nile Bridge.

He added that the bridge has been implemented by the Arab Contractors Company under the supervision of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces within a time frame of three years.
