Egypt launches new healthcare insurance system in Port Said – PM
The Egyptian government launched on Monday a new comprehensive healthcare insurance system in Port Said governorate to offer better health services to citizens.
At a press conference, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said the governorate will be the first to benefit from the new system through 11 general and specialized hospitals and 32 healthcare units.
Financially challenged citizens will be exempted from subscription fees.
The governor of Port Said and a host of ministers attended the conference.
The new healthcare system is one of the fruits of June 30 revolution that put Egypt back on the right track, Madbouly said.
He said the government was keen to conduct an economic reform program in tandem with a social care program targeting impoverished brackets, especially in Upper Egypt.
He added that by the end of this year, Egypt will be free from unsafe areas.
