During Tuesday closing session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has extended its early gains to eventually reach EGP 5.27 billion as the capital market has amounted to EGP 392.912 billion.
The capital market has climbed to the highest levels in 6 months.
The main index, EGX30 also soared, to the highest level since the closing session of 27/01/2011, by 1.63% to end at 5697.48 p. EGX20 jumped by 2.35% to close at 6689.49 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 climbed by 2% to conclude at 544.49 pts. Price index EGX100 hiked by 1.57% to finish at 904.01 p.
Traded volume reached 267.651 million securities worth EGP 975.924 million, exchanged 48.040 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 185 listed securities; 35 declined 145 advanced while 5 keeping their previous levels.
Egyptians and Arabs were net sellers seizing 74.57% and 9.05% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 6.071 million and EGP 3.003 million excluding the deals.
On the other hand, non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 16.38% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 9.075 million excluding the deals
Leading Shares:
EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective upwards led by the shares of Citadel Capital (CCAP.CA) as they jumped by 3.90% to conclude at EGP 3.73.
Talaat Moustafa Group:
Shares of Talaat Moustafa Group (TMGH.CA) soared by 3.82% to finish at EGP 4.89.
EFG-Hermes:
EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) surged by 2.54% to end at EGP 13.30.
Cairo Criminal Court, headed by Judge Mohamed Reda Shawkat, adjourned Saturday the consideration of the market manipulation case of which the sons of the ousted president Hosni Mubarak, Alaa and Gamal as well as EFG-Hermes CEOs Hassan Heikal and Yasser El Mallawany face charges alongside 5 other businessmen. The court was adjourned until Saturday 7/10/2012.
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding:
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) climbed by 1.79% to end at EGP 0.57.
Orascom Telecom Holding:
Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) inched higher by 1.65% to end at EGP 3.70.
Commercial International Bank:
Commercial International Bank- Egypt (CIB) (COMI.CA) surged by 1.29% to close at EGP 32.88.
Mobinil:
Shares of Egyptian Company for Mobile Services – Mobinil – (EMOB.CA) rose by 0.67% to close at EGP 163.77.
Mobinil announced Monday afternoon that CEO Yves Gauthier’s latest statement released by one of the Egyptian economic newspapers on Monday regarding delisting from the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) is not completely identical to what he said.
The company added, in a release responding to EGX inquiries, that it has no information about the main shareholder’s future plans regarding developing the Group’s capital structure. The Group emphasized its commitment to inform the EGX with the company’s upcoming updates.
Orascom Construction Industries:
Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) hiked by 0.05% to close at EGP 293.57.
The Board of Orascom Construction Industries – OCI (OCIC.CA) has approved the valuation differences for splitting the company’s activities, as per the report of General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI).
GAFI’s report calculated the net book value of shareholders’ equity in the Demerging Company (OCI Fertilizers) to the net book value of shareholders’ equity in the Demerged Company (Orascom Engineering and Construction) at (86.11%) to (13.89%) respectively, based on OCI’s financial statements for the fiscal year that ended on 31/12/2011.
