Asian markets briefing 08/05/2023

The majority of the Asian markets closed high on Monday with the Chinese main index, SSEC, rising by 1.81 percent. The index closed at a value of 3,395.00 after it gained 60.50 points. It recorded a day high value of 3,400.18 and a day low value of 3,340.99.

Nikkei 225, the Japanese main index, dropped by -0.71 percent and lost 208.07 points. The index closed at 28,949.88, recording a day high value of 29,144.12 and a day low value of 28,931.81.

HSI, Hong Kong’s main index, climbed by 1.24 percent to 20,297.03, and gained 247.72 points. The index recorded a day high value of 20,321.74 and a day low value of 20,081.70.
