Belarus to Set up Tractor Assembly Plant in Egypt – Abdel Nour

Egypt and Belarus are currently taking actual steps to set up a joint assembly plant for manufacturing various types of tractors, Egyptian trade minister announced on Tuesday.

This comes after a meeting between the Egyptian Minister Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour and a delegation from Minsk Tractor Works, which is currently visiting the country. The meeting was in the presence of Belarus’ ambassador to Egypt Sergei Rachkov.

Belarus is one of the largest manufacturers of state-of-art tractors in the world, Abdel Nour noted.

Moreover, the Egyptian minister pointed out that the new plant will be established in Egypt through coordination between Minsk Tractor Works and the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI).

The project would meet large local demand and would be also used to export to various markets, notably Arab and African countries, he added.
