Belarusian firms want to co-modernise Egypt’s rail infrastructure

A delegation of the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry paid a visit to Cairo, Egypt, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Egypt.

The Belarusian delegation met with top officials of the Egyptian Ministry of Transport and Chairman of Egyptian National Railways Medhat Shousha. Belarusian and Egyptian experts in rail transport held consultations.

The Belarusians also visited a railcar repair facility in El Tebbeen and Egyptian Railways Maintenance and Services Company.

“The sides discussed the possibilities of using Belarusian technologies and companies in the projects to modernize rail infrastructure, electrify railways, repair the existing rail tracks and build new ones, reconstruct railcar repair facilities, and provide maintenance services for the Egyptian rail transport,” the embassy remarked.
