BP to drill 4 exploratory natural gas wells in Egypt during Q4 of 2023

The British multinational oil and gas firm BP intends to drill four exploratory natural gas wells in Egypt during the fourth quarter of 2023, according to the Egyptian Petroleum Ministry’s statement on Tuesday.

The new exploration blocks include two wells at Raven gas field in the North Alexandria Concession to the Western Dessert Gas Complex, while the other two will be at the King Mariout exploration block offshore, the statement said.

Bernard Looney, CEO of BP, has announced earlier during his interview with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi that his company would invest $3.5 billion over the next three years in the areas of research, exploration and development.
