Cairo bourse benchmark closes in green zone

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed on positive note on Sunday, as the benchmark added 0.52 percent or 67.07 points to close at 12,891.39 points.

The small and medium caps index EGX70 added 0.08 percent to 464.62 points, while the broader index EGX100 inched up 0.07 percent to 1,113.8 points.

The equal weighted index gained 0.39 percent or 7.8 points to close at 2,000.15 points.

The market witnessed 778.6 million shares changed hands worth EGP 1.5 billion.

Local and foreign investors were net buyers with 41.5 million pounds and 176,000 pounds respectively, while Arab investors were sellers with 41.3 million pounds.

Retail investors were net buyers with 53.8 million pounds, while institutions were net sellers with.

The market capitalization gained 1.5 billion pound reaching 616.3 billion pounds.

Out of 178 stocks traded today, decliners outnumbered advancers by 75 to 70, while 33 stocks remained unchanged.

CIB, the heaviest stock of the EGX30 closed 0.2 percent down. Today’s top performing stocks were: Porto Group, up 6.9 percent, Telecom Egypt, up 4.5 percent, and GB Auto, up 3.6 percent. Today’s worst performing stocks included Domty, down 3.6 percent, Emaar Misr, down 3.0 percent, and ACC, down 2.9 percent.
