Cairo bourse posts weekly gains of 2.3 bln pounds, EGX 30 up

Egypt’s stock benchmark finished in the green on Thursday, posting slight weekly gains, on foreign buying appetite

Indices:

Benchmark EGX 30 rose 0.55 percent, to close the last day of trading this week at 13,891 points. For the week, the main gauge booked a growth of 0.07 percent.

The mid- and small-cap index, EGX 70 gained 2.22 percent in a week closing at 815 points during Wednesday’s session. Price index, EGX 100 also made a weekly gain of 1.16 percent closing at 1,809 points.

Market Capitalisation:

Market capital registered weekly gains of 2.3 billion Egyptian pounds ($130.5 million) as it closed on Thursday at 771.286 billion pounds, compared with 768.626 billion pounds the previous week, the Egyptian bourse said in its weekly report.

Turnovers

During the week, the trading volume hit around 2.2 million securities, compared 1.42 million a week earlier. For the traded value, it reached around 7.3 billion pounds against 5.2 billion pounds a week earlier.
