Cairo governorate studies building a multi-storey e-garage in Abbassia

Cairo governorate plans to execute a multi-storey electronic car park in Abbassia district as part of a plan to facilitate the orderly and timely flow of traffic on the streets and squares.

There is ongoing cooperation between the governorate and a Chinese company specialised in e-garage industries, studying building an electronic car park in Cairo, an official in the governorate told Amwal Al Ghad on Monday.

The two parties are studying the timeframe and the total cost to build Abbassia electronic car park, the source added.

There is a plan to expand into building more multi-storey e-garages, which are expected to help ease traffic congestion, particularly on main squares of the capital having high traffic density, stated the official.

Meanwhile, the official said that work on ‘Roxy Garage’ is on the way to operate soon. The two-phase project is executed on 9000 metres with a capacity of 1700 cars at a total cost of 200 million Egyptian pounds (US$22.5 million).
