Culture and Tourism Committee visits Grand Egyptian Museum

Members of Culture, Information and Tourism Committee lauded the project of Grand Egyptian Museum; as it considers the twenty first century Egypt’s cultural project. They showed their complete support for the project.

This was during the committee members’ visit to Grand Egyptian Museum project in Cairo-Alex Desert Road on Thursday morning. The member Mohamed Abdel Monem in addition to FJP’s members visited the last phase’s preparatory work; Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Ali, Ministry of State for Antiquities Affairs, accompanied the committee’s members during their visit. The minister said that this visit is one of the committee’s visits for identifying and supporting the ministry’s projects.

On his side, Dr Al Hussein Abdel Baser, GEM’ General Supervisor, said that the committee’s delegation had a round which included visiting the restoration center that exerts its effort to restore the monuments in the center’s store, and also the antiquities stores which have ten monuments belong to different ancient Egyptian eras. They also visited the third phase’s preparatory work of the project that includes constructing a main museum; which will have done by August 2015.
