Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM) studies expanding in the Egyptian market through establishing new factory for producing ammonium sulfate fertilizers in Alexandria governorate.
Speaking to Amwal Al Ghad Monday, Chairperson Mohammad Safaan stated that the new plant would be established with investments estimated at around US$140 million.
ECHEM is currently conducting financial and technical studies for the new plant, the head said, adding that the total capacity of the new factory is expected to range between 450,000-500,000 tonnes.
The new project comes among company’s strategy that aims at maximising the added value of raw materials used to produce petrochemicals.
The plant is expected to start operating within 30 months after finishing the construction works, the official noted.
