EGX closes mixed on August 2

Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed mixed on Monday.

  • The benchmark index, EGX30, went down by 0.35 per cent to 54,094.33 points.
  • The Shariah index, EGX33, dropped by 0.13 per cent to 6,163.83 points.
  • The index EGX35-LV climbed by 1 per cent to 6,568.88 points.
  • The SMEs index, EGX70, soared by 1.36 per cent to 19,293.24 points.
  • The EGX100 index advanced by 1.28 per cent to 25,275.46 points.

The total market cap reached 4,022,381,371,655 Egyptian pounds.

Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with 638,806,836 Egyptian pounds and 16,093,768,883 pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, Egyptians were net sellers with 16,732,575,719 pounds.

Top gainers 

  1. The shares of Glaxo Smith Kline rose by 20.00 per cent, to close at the price of 345.250 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. The shares of El-Nile Co. For Pharmaceuticals And Chemical Industries climbed by 20.00 per cent, closing at the price of 279.600 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. The shares of Egyptian International Pharmaceuticals (EIPICO) jumped by 20.00 per cent, to the purchasing price of 149.760 Egyptian pounds a share.

Top losers

  1. The shares of Alexandria Flour Mills fell by 20.00 per cent, to close at 174.840 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. The shares of Tycoon Holding Company For Financial Investments declined by 14.20 per cent, to close at 14.200 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. The shares of North Cairo Mills dropped by 10.02 per cent, to close at the price of 186.940 Egyptian pounds a share.
