Egypt, Arab civil aviation bodies sign media cooperation MoU
The Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority and the Arab Civil Aviation Organisation (ACAO) signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday to strengthen cooperation on information sharing and joint media initiatives across the Arab aviation sector.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 11th AFI Aviation Week 2026, organised by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and hosted by Egypt in Cairo on 27 – 31 July, the Ministry of Civil Aviation said.
The Rabat-based ACAO is a regional organisation that promotes cooperation among Arab civil aviation authorities and supports the development of the sector across member states.
The memorandum provides for the exchange of information and specialised publications, as well as joint media initiatives across multiple platforms to strengthen communication and knowledge sharing among Arab civil aviation institutions.
It also establishes a joint action plan and regular coordination meetings to oversee implementation and develop joint working mechanisms, according to the ministry.
Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El-Hefny said the agreement would strengthen cooperation between Arab civil aviation institutions by promoting the exchange of expertise and information in line with international best practices.
He said the initiative would also help raise awareness of civil aviation issues, highlight the achievements of Arab aviation institutions, and support closer regional cooperation.
