Egypt to launch digital investor complaints platform soon
Egypt’s General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) will soon launch a digital platform for investor complaints to streamline the submission, tracking, and resolution of cases, the Investment and Foreign Trade Ministry said on Tuesday.
The platform will allow investors to submit complaints and proposals, receive responses within a specified timeframe, and track the progress of their cases using a reference number, the ministry said. It is intended to provide a unified channel for handling investor grievances.
The launch follows a directive from Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid to unify investor complaint channels and improve the transparency and efficiency of case handling. GAFI Chief Executive Mohamed Awad reviewed final preparations for the platform ahead of its official rollout.
The platform will also enable users to rate the services they receive and generate real-time reports to help policymakers monitor the performance of Egypt’s investment environment, the ministry said.
Awad said GAFI would coordinate with government agencies involved in investment to speed up responses and ensure uninterrupted service throughout the week.
The authority also plans to use artificial intelligence to analyse complaint trends and automatically classify complaints, inquiries, and suggestions, while continuing to enhance the platform based on investor feedback, the ministry said.
The initiative forms part of the government’s broader efforts to improve the investment climate by simplifying procedures, increasing transparency and strengthening communication with domestic and foreign investors.
