Egypt Benchmark Index Surges 0.1%, Ends Week above 6170 pts

Egyptian bourse has ended this week higher attaining gains totaled EGP 241 million backed by local and Arab net buyers. The main gauge closed higher to 6171 points on Thursday.

The Egyptian Exchange indices were wavering in mixed notes Thursday afternoon.

Egypt’s benchmark index EGX30 ended 0.09 per cent higher to 6171.21 pts, and the EGX20 also finished 0.02 per cent up to 7270.93 pts.   
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 fell by 0.18 per cent to conclude at 514.62 pts. The price index EGX100 dipped by 0.38 per cent to close at 865.03 pts. 
The capital market has closed at EGP 399.204 billion on Thursday.

Turnovers
Through the closing session of Thursday, the trading volume has 176.243 million securities. For the traded value, it hit EGP 497.736 million, exchanged through 25.360 thousand transactions.    

Also during the closing session, 176 listed securities have been traded in; 79 declined, 72 advanced; while 25 keeping their previous levels.

Investors’ Activity
Egyptians and Arabs and were net buyers as they acquired 86.09% and 8.68% respectively, of the total market, with net equities of EGP 5.462 million and EGP 3.054 million, excluding the deals.

On the other hand, the non-Arab foreigners were net sellers seizing 5.24% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 8.516 million, excluding the deals.
