Egypt Bourse Benchmark Dips to 6162 pts at Midday

Egypt’s stock market posted slight gains of EGP 15 million during the midday session of Thursday backed by Arab net buyers. However, the benchmark index dipped to 6162 points.

The Egyptian Exchange’s indices were wavering in red notes during Thursday noon.

The Benchmark EGX30 fell by 0.05% to 6162.99 p; while EGX20 solely rose by 0.08% to 7275.34 p.

On the other hand, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 inched down by 0.11% to 514.99 p.  Price index EGX100 fell by 0.33% to 865.52 p.
The capital market has opened at EGP 399.732 billion on Thursday, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English at 12.03 p.m. Cairo time (10:03 GMT).

Trading Volumes & Values

The trading volume has recorded 56.845 million securities worth EGP 150.622 million, exchanged through 7063 transactions during Thursday midday.

Also during the midday session, 142 listed securities have been traded in; 54 fell, 53 advanced; while 35 keeping their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Egyptians and the non-Arab foreigners were net sellers as they acquired 83.7% and 5.81% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 4.632 million and EGP 5.137 million respectively, excluding the deals.

Meanwhile, Arabs were net buyers seizing 10.49%, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 9.770 million excluding the deals.
