Egypt Cabinet to Review Integrated License Next Week: Telecom Regulator

The Economic Committee of the Egyptian Cabinet is planning to discuss the final conditions for the integrated operator license within the next week.

Eng. Hesham Alayli CEO of the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) said the committee will review the new offer of the license during the coming week, noting that the delay of discussion is due to the current political events and the Egyptian referendum.

Alayli has informed Amwal Al Ghad in an exclusive that NTRA didn’t announce until now the provision of fixed mobile phone services by the three operators.

NTRA issued the integrated operator license as a regulator solution which will pave the way to achieve the required growth and balance of the telecommunication market in Egypt.

NTRA emphasized that all the outstanding points for the activation of the license have been deducted, except the points related to the International interdependence between Etisalat Egypt and Telecom Egypt (TE)(ETAL-CA), but according to the previous period, NTRA has made many efforts to solve these points and the board of directors decided to refer the points to TE and Etisalat Egypt.
