Egypt’s Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Sayed Ismail, highlighted the importance of promoting local production and industry localisation for sewage treatment system components, a Cabinet statement has said.
Ismail discussed collaboration opportunities with private sector firm to enhance sewage services in villages under the presidential initiative “Haya Kareema” Decent Life.
He emphasised the importance of continuous research and development to adopt the latest technologies, ensuring smart solutions for both new construction projects and the rehabilitation of existing sewage treatment plants. He further stressed the importance of localising the manufacture of the components of the sewage treatment equipment.
Discussions covered modern technologies for sewage treatment plants, reducing energy consumption, minimising waste, and adhering to standard specifications, according to the statement.
The meeting underscored the ministry’s commitment to supporting the private sector, removing obstacles, and promoting local production in the sewage treatment industry, the statement added.
