Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawy met on Monday with a high-level delegation from China’s Huawei on the sidelines of the ADIPEC 2025 Conference in Abu Dhabi to discuss ways to advance digital transformation and clean energy integration across the petroleum sector.
According to a ministry statement, the talks focused on applying artificial intelligence (AI) and digital field management systems to boost operational efficiency, as well as strengthening data security and protection frameworks in petroleum operations.
The two sides also discussed deploying solar energy solutions at production sites and facilities as part of Egypt’s efforts to expand renewable energy use within the oil and gas industry.
Both parties agreed to broaden training programmes for engineers and technical staff to support the adoption of advanced digital systems and clean energy technologies in the sector.
