Egypt invests EGP 105m to develop power grids in 5 governorates

Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy said that it has invested around 105 million Egyptian pounds  in developing and improving the efficiency of power grids in five governorates during the first quarter (Q1) of fiscal year 2020/2021.

The developments was conducted through Middle Egypt Electricity Distribution Co. The five governorates comprise Fayoum, Beni Suef, Minya, Assiut, and the New Valley.

The number of subscribers in these governorates reached around 4 million, 1.3 million of which use prepaid counters.

As part of the development carried out in the five governorates, a number of national projects with EGP 400 million businesses were connected to the national electricity transmission network.
