Egypt names new tax authority chief

Egypt’s Minister of Finance Amr el-Garhy has mandated on Thursday Emad Samy Hussein to chair the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA).

Hussein will take over from Abdel Moneim El Sayed Mattar, who has been appointed as the general supervisor for the application of the recently-adopted valued-added tax law.

Minister el-Garhy has also named Mohamed Abdel Sattar Ibrahim as the vice chairman for the tax authority. Ibrahim will be the first vice chairman ever in the Egyptian Tax Authority’s history.
