Egypt plans to build 10 new smart cities soon: minister

Egypt’s Housing Ministry is cooperating with Ministry of Communication to establish ten cities, notably in the new capital city, East Port Said, and El Alamein, by applying the most up-to-date sustainable smart techniques.

Minister of Housing Moustafa Madbouly said Wednesday that his ministry carried out 25 new cities over the past years, where their populations exceeded million.

Madbouly stated that 6th of October and New Cairo cities have the largest populations in spite of being established less than 30 years ago.

He further added that the ministry welcomes international partnerships notably with Africa countries to invest in adopting modern systems for new cities.

The Egyptian minister also referred to his country’s approach to spread green agriculture in designing buildings, according to global standards.
