France’s Safran may build security equipment plant in Egypt with Falcon

France’s supplier of systems and equipment for aerospace, defense and security, Safran has signed Tuesday an agreement with Falcon Egypt, aiming to establish a new plant for security equipment production in Egypt.

Walid Fouad, General Manager of Morpho, a subsidiary of the French Safran group in Egypt, said that Egypt enjoys an attractive environment for investments asserting that local manufacturing is on top of the French parent company’s priorities.

Fouad added that in case of reaching an agreement to launch a local production line, Safran and Falcon will collaborate with the Egyptian Ministry of Military Production and the Arab Organization for Industrialization.

Sherif Khaled, Executive President of Falcon Egypt, stated that the agreement also includes providing training programmes for Egyptian workers and engineers by a number of French experts from Safran group.
