Egypt plans to launch mineral exploration international bid in Q4

Egypt is planning to launch an international bid in this year’s fourth quarter (Q4) to inspect and explore mineral ores in the eastern and western deserts, informed sources said on Tuesday.

The awaited bid will include more than 200 areas, each area not less than 16 sqm, according to the sources said.

The bidding will be based on royalties, taxes, and the percentage of free participation of the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA) in production.

Egypt is targeting the attraction of investments of up to $1 billion in the mining sector.
