Egypt reviews settlement of NUCA dues owed by government entities

Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly reviewed on Sunday the status of settling outstanding dues owed to the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) by several ministries and government entities, stressing the need to accelerate payments to support the authority’s urban development projects.

The meeting reviewed NUCA’s financial position, including a summary of the total amounts owed to the authority by government entities and of the payments NUCA made to these entities through July 2026.

Discussions also covered NUCA’s spending on transferring assets, including land and service buildings, to relevant authorities in new cities, in coordination with the ministries of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development, as well as service buildings implemented under the authority’s development plans.

The meeting also reviewed NUCA-financed projects and the authority’s expected cash flow position from July to December 2026, including projected revenues and expenditures.

He added that NUCA is currently conducting settlements to resolve financial overlaps with government entities in cooperation with the ministries of Finance and Planning and Economic Development.

The meeting further addressed ways to maximise NUCA’s resources and reviewed the financing status of ongoing projects. Madbouly directed officials to follow up on agreed measures to accelerate the payment of the authority’s dues related to several projects.
