Egypt Shares Gain EGP1.45 bln at Midday

Backed by local and Arab net buyers, the Egyptian stocks bloomed posting gains of EGP 1.45 billion during the midday session of Wednesday. The benchmark surged to near 6480 points Wednesday noon.

The Egyptian Exchange’s indices were wavering in green notes during midday.

The Benchmark EGX30 went up by 0.34% to 6483.43 p; while EGX20 also increased by 0.38% to 7518.15 p.

Additionally, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 rose by 0.50% to 528.41 p.  Price index EGX100 advanced by 0.46% to 889.79 p.

The capital market has reached on Wednesday EGP 412.378 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English at 12:58 p.m. Cairo time (10:58 GMT).

Trading Volumes & Values

The trading volume has recorded 52.745 million securities worth EGP 134.885 million, exchanged through 8419  transactions during Wednesday midday.

Also during the midday session, 155 listed securities have been traded in; 22 fell, 102 advanced; while 31 keeping their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers seizing 95.36% and 2.23% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 6.858 million and EGP 2.869 million respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, the non-Arab foreigners were net sellers acquiring 2.41% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 9.727 million, excluding the deals.
