Egypt Stocks end Bearish with EGP164mln Losses

Egypt’s stocks finished lower on Monday with losses worth 164 million Egyptian pounds (US$ 21.4million).

The market capitalization has recorded 495.541 billion pounds during the closing session of Monday.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 declined by 0.43 percent to 8745.04 points.

EGX20 inched lower by 0.48 percent to 9222.22 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 edged down by 0.78 percent to 466.07 points.

The price index, EGX100 shrinked by 0.54 percent to 980.46 points.

Turnovers low

On Monday, the bourse’s trading volume has recorded 138.198 million securities, with turnovers closed at EGP 562.000 million, exchanged through 18.040 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 166 listed securities have been traded in; 89 declined, 33 advanced; while 41 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Egyptians and Arab investors were net buyers on Monday getting 74.21% and 8.42% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 17.778 million and EGP 4.303 million, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, the Non-Arab investors were net sellers seizing 17.37% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 22.082 million, excluding the deals.
