Egypt, Sudan to Exchange Experience in Information Technology

Eng. Hany Mahmoud, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stated that the Ministry intends to cooperate with Sudan for supporting information technology industry, technology incubators and innovation.  It also aims at linking the two countries by a fiber cable, transferring the Egyptian experience in establishing and managing technology zones to the Sudanese side.

Dr. Issa Bushra, Minister of Communications and Information Technology added that the success achieved by the Egyptian information technology sector in the previous period can be used as a means for bilateral relations between Egypt and the Nile Basin countries generally and Egypt and Sudan particularly. He also noted that the coming period will witness many opportunities for cooperation between the two countries, in addition activating previously concluded agreements and memoranda of understanding.

Moreover, the Sudanese side has also asked for establishing an institution for supervising all affairs of cooperation between Egypt and Sudan with regard to the field of communications and information technology, in addition to setting schedules for all projects.

The two ministries also discussed exchanging experience concerning the industry of the digital Arabic content. They also considered possibilities of cooperation in providing training programs specialized in communications and information technology, in addition to supporting small and medium-sized entreprises.
