Egypt to invest 3.5 bln pounds in FY2017/18 slum development scheme

Egypt’s government is planning to pump investments of 3.5 billion Egyptian pounds ($194.8 million) to develop slums within the financial year 2017/2018.

The money is part of the county’s national programme to upgrade informal settlements nationwide.

Egypt hopes to develop 50 percent of the informal settlements planned to be developed.
