EGX Loses EGP 9 Bln, Orascom Falls 5.88%: Sunday Closing

Amid having top two vote-getters for the run-off elections, the EGX posted on Sunday’s closing losses of EGP 9.26 billion as the capital market has amounted to EGP 343.549 billion.

The main index, EGX30 dived 3.49% to close at 4798.14 p. EGX20 inched lower 3.77% to end at 5486.59 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 edged down 3.45% to conclude at 415.48 p. Price index EGX100 went down 2.61% to finish at 755.11 p.

Traded volume reached 77.808 million securities worth EGP 248.817 million, exchanged through 18.440 thousand transactions.

This was after trading in 175 listed securities; 164 declined and 7 advanced while 4 keeping their previous levels.

Egyptians and Arabs were net sellers seizing 44.29% and 2.4% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 15.284 million and EGP 938.057 thousand, excluding the deals.

On the other hand, non-Arab Foreigners were net buyers seizing 53.3% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 16.222 million excluding the deals.

EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective downwards led by Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) which dived 5.88% concluding at EGP 3.20. Shares owned by EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) sank 5.08% finishing at EGP 10.65.

Commercial International Bank- Egypt (COMI.CA) went down 4.01% ending at EGP 25.12. Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) inched lower 3.12% closing at EGP 269.11.

Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) edged down 2.92% concluding at EGP 1.33.
