The fishermen returned to Cairo through Tunisia.
The fishermen, originally from Kafr El-Sheikh governorate were arrested 9 months ago for illegal fishing and trespassing the Libyan territorial waters and were detained at one of the Libyan prisons by Libyan authorities.
The Egyptian foreign ministry held talks with the Libyan authorities in Tripoli as well as local tribes, to release and transfer them to Tunisia.
This is the latest incidents involving Egyptian fishermen arrested in the territorial waters of neighboring countries like Sudan, Libya and Tunisia.
