Egypt’s Eastern Tobacco Co. raises some cigarette prices by 25%-71%

Egypt’s cigarette manufacturer, Eastern Tobacco Co. said on Monday it raised the prices of some of its tobacco and cigar products between 25 percent and 71 percent.

The retail price of its red and green Matossian tobacco (40 grams) increased to 40 pounds, up from 32 pounds, the company added.

The retail price of Petit Verona cigar recorded 45 pounds, instead of 30 pounds.

The retail price of Corona jose bartolo rose to 1,350 pounds per package from 1,000 pounds.
