Egypt’s Egyptian Exchange (EGX) signed on Monday a cooperation protocol with the National Media Authority (NMA) to promote financial literacy among citizens and expand specialised coverage of economic news and capital market developments across national television channels and media platforms.
The agreement aims to present the stock market as a long-term savings and investment tool while simplifying trading mechanisms and financial concepts for the wider public.
As part of the cooperation, teams at Channel One and Egyptian Television have been instructed to simplify economic concepts and explain stock market operations, making financial information more accessible to millions of viewers beyond investors and specialists.
The protocol also establishes a framework for providing a regular flow of official and reliable data to support daily and weekly economic coverage, improve accuracy and deliver objective analysis of the national economy and financial market developments in real time.
The two parties will also develop accessible visual content, featuring market experts and analysts to explain investment issues and market movements.
The agreement further includes workshops to enhance media professionals’ skills and plans to leverage the Egyptian Exchange’s historical identity and its downtown Cairo headquarters to support promotional efforts for promising entities.
A joint coordination committee will oversee the implementation of the initiatives and ensure the development of sustainable programmes supporting the national economy.
