Egypt’s Petroleum Min warns against fake job advertisements

Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has warned citizens against fake job advertisements circulating on social media pages and websites, confirming that legal action will be taken against those responsible.

The ministry categorically denied issuing the advertisements, stressing that they were not published through any of its official pages or platforms. It added that using the ministry’s name does not make the advertisements credible.

The ministry urged citizens not to engage with the entities or individuals behind the advertisements or share personal data and documents. It also warned against transferring money under any pretext in exchange for applying for the alleged vacancies, to avoid falling victim to fraud.

The ministry stressed that exploiting its name to publish fake job advertisements and mislead citizens would not be tolerated. It confirmed that it would take all necessary legal measures against those responsible for publishing the advertisements and impersonating the ministry, in coordination with the relevant authorities.

It also called on citizens to verify information, refrain from circulating or reposting the advertisements, and rely exclusively on information published through its official channels.
