Egypt’s Ezz Steel expects demand to pick up in 2018

George Matta, marketing director of Egypt’s biggest producer Ezz Steel expects demand for steel to improve in the Middle East North Africa (Mena) region in 2018 after a downturn in 2016 and 2017.

Speaking at the Arab Iron & Steel Union (AISU) Steel Summit in Casablanca, Morocco, on Tuesday, October 25, Matta said steel demand in the Mena region was down in 2017 due to budget cutbacks and inflationary prices.
