Egypt’s general budget to be fully automated in 2018: El Garhy

Egypt’s planning to finish the automation of the state’s general budget in March 2018 the Minister of Finance, Amr El Garhy said during the opening session of 4th edition of PAFIX 2017.

PAFIX 2017 is MEA’s leading expo & forum, focused on innovative financial inclusion, payments & transaction, retail banking technology, cyber-security and Fintech.

Known as Government Financial Management Information System (GFMIS), it guarantees executing general budget’s programs, improving the efficiency of resources management, cutting out unnecessary expenses and implementing the unified treasury system that include government revenues and expenditures so as to contribute in maintaining control of financial supervisory over payments.

The minister added that the project aims to tighten the control on the country’s general budget, follow up on exchange procedure and prevent manipulation, added that the government seeks to apply automation system on the state revenues by the middle of the next year, thus 95 percent of the country’s revenues will be electronically connected.
