Egypt’s Housing and Development Bank injects EGP 2.5bln green finance to major firms

Egypt’s Housing Development Bank (HDB) supported the green projects through providing 2.5 billion Egyptian Pounds for major companies, its chairman Hassan Ghanem said on Wednesday.

Ghanem added that agricultural sector accounted the largest share of sustainable financing along with health care, pointing out that the investment cost of green projects exceeded 40 billion pounds.

The banking sector is one of the most important supporting the green economy with the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) as part of its efforts to support sustainable development and environmental protection.
