Egypt’s ICT minister supports e-governance in face of administrative corrupt

Egyptian Minister of Communications Yasser El-Kady expressed his enthusiasm for e-government approach asserting that every country should adopt it as an anti-corruption strategy.

El-Kady said that direct contact between recipient and provider of a service creates a good environment of corruption. On the contrary, when services are provided online, there would be no room for administrative corruption.

The minister added that e-governance is very common in foreign countries. Governments mainly rely on the internet in admitting and providing all kinds of services.

Electronic governance or e-governance is the application of information and communication technology (ICT) for delivering government services, exchange of information, communication transactions, integration of various stand-alone systems and services between government-to-customer (G2C), government-to-business (G2B), government-to-government (G2G) as well as back office processes and interactions within the entire government framework.
