Egypt’s IDA studies new industrial zone in 6th Oct. City

Egyptian Industrial Development Authority (IDA) is in talks with the Cabinet to establish a new industrial zone in Sixth of October City, 38km (23.6 miles) from the centre of Cairo, IDA’s head Magdy Ghazi said on Monday.

The state-owned IDA plans to launch new land plots on a space of around 15 million square metres at the end of the current year, Ghazi further added.

Industrial zone is an area zoned and planned for the purpose of industrial development. It can be thought of as a more heavyweight version of a business park or office park, which has offices and light industry, rather than heavy industry.
