Electrolux Egypt unites with Shift EV to electrify its cars

Electrolux Group Egypt, the world leader in the production and manufacture of electrical appliances, has contracted with Shift EV company, in order to convert the cars of Electrolux Group Egypt” to work with electric energy.

The electric car project comes within the company’s strategy and the state’s approach to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), through shifting towards clean and renewable energy.

This project also comes in a way that enhances the company’s ambition and hopes to reduce carbon emissions and promote environmental sustainability practices locally.

A team from Electrolux Group Egypt began working first to supply minivans for service centers as a first stage, and has already converted a number of trucks to operate with electric power in cooperation with the Shift EV company.

“This deal is a continuation of the company’s efforts to achieve Egypt’s Vision 2030, which aims to rely on renewable energy such as electricity,” said CEO of Electrolux, Maysam El-Hennawy.

Shift EV was established in 2019 according to a vision that would convert current cars to work with electric power, through the founders Ali El-Tayeb, co-founder and CEO, and Amr Helmy, co-founder and chief technology officer.
