Emirates NBD eyes opening 34 branches in Egypt in 3yrs

Emirates NBD intends to open up 34 new branches in Egypt in the coming three years, to eventually have a total network of 100 branches across the North African country, an official said Thursday.

The Emirati bank in Egypt is seeking to expand into opening more mini-branches designated to finance small and medium-sized projects in the country, Sahar El Damati, deputy managing director of Emirates NBD Egypt, told Amwal Al Ghad on Thursday.

Emirates NBD Egypt has recently established a special unit for SMEs sector to determine industries needed to finance alongside any potential risks, she added.

The anticipated new branches will be distributed across the country, El Damati said referring that the Emirates NBD Egypt has strong presence in Delta and Upper Egypt regions, notably in Menya, Assiut, and Beni Suef.
