Egypt’s Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy, who is currently visiting San Francisco, held a series of media interviews which included The Associated Press, the BBC, Alhurra TV and San Francisco Chronicle newspaper.
During his interviews, Fahmy affirmed that Egypt abides by a genuine democratic system and respects human rights.
He further said that despite all the challenges and difficulties, the government will not deviate from this goal, said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Badr Abdel-Atti.
The Egyptian-US ties are important for both countries, Abdel-Atti quoted Fahmy as saying in the interviews.
Fahmy also pointed out to terrorism in Egypt, added the spokesman.
He also tackled regional conditions in the Middle East, especially the situation in Libya and the Syrian crisis, according to the spokesman.
