Finland’s construction turnover drops 5.5% in July ’24
Finland’s construction sector saw a 5.5 per cent decline in working day adjusted turnover in July 2024 compared to the previous year, according to Statistics Finland.
The volume of sales, adjusted for price changes, fell by 3.1 per cent. The downturn was largely driven by a 9.7 per cent drop in building construction turnover and a 6.9 per cent decrease in sales volume.
However, civil engineering bucked the trend, with turnover rising by 6.3 per cent and sales volume up by 3.7 per cent. Specialised construction activities saw a 6.1 per cent turnover decline and a 3.1 per cent drop in sales volume.
On a monthly basis, seasonally adjusted turnover and sales volume in construction rose by 1.0 per cent and 0.8 per cent, respectively, compared to June 2024.
